Turn your passion into real-world operation and innovation in this small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) course.
This course was specifically designed to not only prepare you to sit for the Part 107 Unmanned Aircraft (UA) General Knowledge Test, but also introduces students in achieving the aviation knowledge to help them operate sUAS safely in the National Airspace System (NAS).
This course is self-paced, but with direct communication with your instructor. The course is rigorous for those without aviation experience as expected but is sufficient to adequately prepare students to take the test as long as students follow the guidelines provided by the course content and instructor’s information.
There is an abundance of information in this course that students are encouraged to download and take with them as they prepare to both take the FAA test and to operate a UA in the NAS. The sUAS ground school will include four modules (one per week) that will introduce students new to aviation and the UAS world, working knowledge of aircraft components and systems, FAR Part 107 knowledge and test preparation with weekly and final assessments. Additionally, students are exposed to the fundamentals of flight, weather, regulations, navigation, human factors, and safety. By the end of the course, students will be prepared to take the Part 107 exam depending on the effort they put forth, or will have knowledge of what they need to do to further prepare for the test.
Note: This non-degree course does not substitute for a license, degree, certification or required professional credential.
