Aviation Management Certificate with IATA


Cargo Introductory Course

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Worldwide has joined forces with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to bring you an online aviation management certificate.

Designed for junior level managers currently working in the aviation industry or professionals entering the industry and seeking a managerial role, the certificate’s curriculum addresses topics such as the overview and interdependence of the air transportation system and fundamental skills required of supervisors and/or managers   Courses are offered fully online and are self-paced.  Enrollment is open and courses can be started anytime.  Students have one year to complete all six courses.

Upon completing this program, you will be able to:

  • Become a more valuable employee or potential employee by having a thorough knowledge of the air transport industry, its function and role
  • Provide insight into current trends and issues in civil aviation, such as aviation safety and security, law and new technologies
  • Describe the characteristics of high-performance organizations and assess your organization
  • Use benchmarking to measure productivity
  • Implement a strategic plan and understand different strategic planning models
  • Recognize different leadership theories and effective leadership
  • Learn the seven management disciplines

 Successful completion of the Certificate in Aviation Management, offered in conjunction with IATA, results in students being awarded the Aviation Management Professional (AvMP) designation from IATA.   Please visit IATA’s website for more information.

A certificate of completion is awarded upon successful completion of the six courses listed below:  The registration fee is $1800 for the six courses. (This does not include the price of the textbook for ALF-3003.)   Students will register directly through IATA.  Students have 12 months to complete the program.

This course develops the practical and managerial skills necessary to successfully plan for operational success. The course covers the basic details for developing an operational plan and designing the strategic direction necessary to achieve these goals.
