A five-day workshop for English language teachers who want to specialize in Aviation English. This workshop focuses on Language as a Human Factor in Aviation, the International Civil Aviation Organization's (ICAO) language proficiency requirements, and aviation English teaching approaches and techniques. The week begins by providing an overview of the critical role of language within aviation operations. Participants learn about the development and implementation of the ICAO language proficiency requirements for the aviation industry. The workshop then focuses on pedagogical approaches to teaching Aviation English including content and language integrated learning and task-based language teaching using authentic materials. Participants will leave the workshop equipped with teaching techniques specific for Aviation English that maximize efficiency in the classroom.
