The essential elements of current U.S. and international airport planning and design trends, including airport master planning, layout plans, geometric design and layout of the airfield and terminal facilities, are covered in this course.

Students also will be schooled in obstruction analysis, signage and lighting, forecasting, airside and landside interface, and capacity and delay effects. Environmental planning, such as hazardous wildlife attractants, airport noise and compatible land use, is fully covered as well.

Shawn Arena, A.A.E., has spent nearly three decades as an airport industry professional having held several management positions at four commercial service airports and four general aviation airports. He is an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) and active member on local, regional, and national professional airport boards.
